Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Maria Callas and Michael Jackson. These are just some of the music legends who passed away years ago and who, despite this, continue to perform on the world’s greatest stages through the projection of their holograms, the three-dimensional reproduction of an image.
Holographic technology quickly found an ideal field of application in the world of entertainment, but is now ready to make its entry into other areas of our lives as well.
One example? With Project Starline, Google has developed a new technology that allows video calls to be made using holograms and the latest innovations in this field.
And in Italy there are those ready to bet, backed by 20 years of hands-on experience, that augmented and virtual reality, holograms, gamification and infotainment will be the future of digital communication as well.
The Rome-based company Media Engineering, founded in 2002 from the vision of CEOs and engineers Antonio and Gianluca Franzese, applies its engineering, creative and multimedia expertise precisely to meet the new needs of businesses.
Through the design of customisable e-Learning Management System courses and programmes, as well as infotainment, gamification, cutting-edge software and applications, the Italian company has a clear objective: to innovate, to imagine a new vision of the future, and to create technological solutions for companies aiming at integrated 360-degree digital communication.
“While technological evolution improves day by day, opening the doors to unprecedented opportunities,” explains engineer Antonio Franzese, “the way brands communicate, both externally and internally, has remained fairly static and anchored to old dynamics. Making full use of the potential of digital technology today means knowing how to integrate the essence of 4.0 technologies into one’s communication. Innovative solutions such as 3D holograms, virtual and augmented reality, new training methodologies and gamification are increasingly necessary to promote a brand in a distinctive way, make corporate communication more effective, digitalise operational business processes, and create digital events.”
One example of innovation developed by the company is MY HOLOGRAM, the first integrated 3D holographic display system that allows holograms to be projected floating in mid-air.
Made possible by FAN LED technology and an internal microprocessor that illuminates the device’s blades to deliver three-dimensional effects through high-speed rotation, the system is designed to transform any idea into ultra-high-resolution 3D content.
The company’s technologies will be presented at a live event on 18 November 2022, at the Rosa Grand Milano Hotel in Piazza Fontana, to celebrate 20 years of activity and provide a practical demonstration of the impact of new technologies on our lives.
“Come and experience the future” will in fact be an opportunity for Media Engineering to bring together international speakers, showcase innovative communication systems and futuristic practices, accompanied by live 3D music.
“The event we have decided to organise in Milan will serve a dual purpose. On one hand, to celebrate twenty years of activity under the banner of innovation, and on the other, to provide a practical and concrete demonstration of how our technologies can support brand growth in a highly ambitious way. For the occasion, in addition to 3D projections and live music, we have brought together some of the world’s leading international speakers to take stock of a sector with disruptive potential,” concludes engineer Antonio Franzese, CEO of Media Engineering.
